# Mail Service for Americans Abroad: Send Letters from Anywhere

Print and Mail Company is a mail service for Americans who live, work or travel abroad: expats, digital nomads, remote workers and dual citizens. You upload a PDF from your laptop or phone, or have an AI assistant write the letter, and we print it in Europe and mail it to any country, including the US. You pay in US dollars from prepaid credit, and you need no local post office, printer or stamps.

## Who uses it

- **Expats** in Europe and elsewhere who write to landlords, banks, insurers and authorities in their new country or back home.
- **Digital nomads and remote workers** who move between countries and have no printer or post office nearby.
- **Dual citizens** with paperwork in two countries, for example a pension fund in Germany and a bank in the US.
- **Students, researchers and retirees abroad** who need to reply to a university, a landlord or an authority by mail.

## Letters to any country, including the US

We print your letter in Europe and hand it to a postal carrier there. Typical delivery after handover (not guaranteed):

| Destination | Typical delivery after handover |
|---|---|
| Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands | 2–4 business days |
| Rest of Europe | 3–6 business days |
| Rest of the world, including the US | 5–15 business days |

Letters to US addresses travel from Europe, so plan for 5–15 business days; if a US deadline is close, leave enough time or use a faster channel the recipient accepts. Letters paid by 12:00 Central European Time on a business day are usually printed and mailed the same business day.

Prices depend on the destination zone. Including VAT, a 1-page black & white letter to Germany or France costs €3.59, and to the US €4.74.

## How it works from anywhere

1. **Create an account** with email and password, a magic link or Google sign-in, and choose **USD** as your account currency.
2. **Upload a PDF** from your laptop or phone (US Letter or A4, 9 mm free on every side), or let an AI assistant write the letter through our [MCP connector](/ai-assistants).
3. **Enter the recipient's address** in any country; for US addresses, include the state and ZIP code. We print it directly on the envelope.
4. **Choose your options:** standard or registered mail, black & white or color, single- or double-sided.
5. **Pay the exact price** shown, including VAT, by card or from your prepaid credit.
6. **Follow the status in your account:** Paid → Printed → Posted. Each paid letter is confirmed by email.

US Letter PDFs to the US are printed on US Letter paper; for a country that uses A4, you choose A4 or US Letter at the same price.

## Return address and replies

Every envelope carries our company address as the return address. Put your own contact details in the letter: a postal address where you receive mail or, if you are on the move, an email address or phone number, so the recipient can reach you.

If a letter cannot be delivered, it comes back to us, and its status in your account shows it as returned. Keep your own copy of each PDF: uploaded files are deleted automatically 30 days after posting.

## Paying in US dollars from abroad

- **Account currency:** USD, chosen at sign-up (EUR, GBP and CHF are also available). Prices are set in EUR and converted at the ECB reference rate plus a 12% currency margin, fixed when you pay.
- **Cards:** cards issued outside the EEA, including US cards, carry a surcharge, shown as a separate line before you pay. Consumer cards issued in the EEA, for example by a bank in Germany or France, are never surcharged.
- **Prepaid credit, no subscription:** the minimum top-up is CHF 10.00 / €10.00 / £10.00 / US$10.00, and credit does not expire while your account exists.
- **Registered mail:** €9.80 (excl. VAT) on top of the letter price, with a tracking number and signature on delivery. It is international registered mail, not US Certified Mail.

See the [pricing page](/pricing) for every destination zone.

## FAQ

### Can I send a letter to a US address while I live abroad?

Yes. We print and mail it in Europe, and a postal carrier delivers it to the US, typically 5–15 business days after handover (not guaranteed). Include the state and ZIP code in the address. Letters to Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands typically arrive in 2–4 business days.

### Where do recipients send their replies?

To the address or contact details in your letter. The envelope shows our company address as the return address, so put a postal address, an email address or a phone number in the letter itself.

### Will my US card be surcharged?

Yes. Cards issued outside the EEA, including US cards, carry a surcharge, which is shown as a separate line before you pay. Consumer cards issued in the EEA are never surcharged.

### Can you mail a document with my original signature?

No. We print only what is in your PDF, including a scanned signature, so we can't mail paper originals, checks or other enclosures. If a recipient needs your original handwritten signature, mail that document yourself.

### Can an AI assistant write and send the letter for me?

Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client to our [connector](/ai-assistants). The assistant writes the letter, shows you a draft with the exact price and sends it only after you confirm, paid from your prepaid credit.
