Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
In short: We only use the cookies our website needs to work: to keep you signed in, protect sign-in and payments, remember your language and remember your cookie choice. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies at the moment. If we add them later, they will only be used after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how LeFaLux vGmbH, the operator of Print and Mail Company (printandmailcompany.com), uses cookies and similar technologies on its website. It complements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data in general. If you have questions, contact privacy@printandmailcompany.com.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise the browser on later page views or visits. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in a comparable way, and this policy covers them too. At present we use only cookies; we don't use local storage, tracking pixels or device fingerprinting.
- First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by another company, such as a payment provider.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
3. When we need your consent
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the amended Luxembourg Act of 30 May 2005 on privacy in electronic communications, a website may only store or read information on your device without your consent if this is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested, or only to transmit a communication. All other cookies require your prior consent.
Where cookies involve personal data, the GDPR also applies. For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, if you have an account, on the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Optional cookies would be based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

5. Strictly necessary cookies in detail
These cookies are needed for our website to work securely. They don't require your consent and cannot be switched off in our cookie settings. You can block them in your browser, but you will then not be able to sign in or pay.
- Sign-in. When you sign in, we set a session cookie that keeps you signed in. On secure (HTTPS) connections its name starts with
__Secure-, which means your browser only sends it over encrypted connections. Scripts on the page cannot read it. A second cookie holds a signed copy of your session details for up to five minutes, so that we don't have to look them up in our database on every page. - Sign-in and authorisation steps. When you sign in with Google or authorise an AI assistant to access your account, we set short-lived cookies starting with
pmc.. They connect the steps of the process and protect it against cross-site request forgery. They expire after a few minutes. - Language.
NEXT_LOCALEremembers your language so that we show pages in the language you chose. - Your cookie choice.
pmc_consentstores which categories you accepted or rejected and the version of this policy, so that we don't ask you on every visit. It expires after 6 months, and we then ask you again. We also ask again if we change our cookies in a way that requires new consent. - Payment fraud prevention. On pages where you pay, our payment provider Stripe sets the cookies
__stripe_midand__stripe_sidto detect and prevent fraudulent payments. Stripe may also set cookies on its own domains within the payment form. Stripe processes this data as an independent controller; see the privacy and cookie policies on stripe.com.
If you choose to sign in with Google, you are redirected to Google's website, where Google may set its own cookies under its own policies. We don't place Google cookies on our website.
6. Analytics and marketing cookies
We currently don't use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. We don't embed third-party content that sets cookies, such as videos, maps or social media buttons, and we serve our fonts from our own servers.
Our cookie banner already includes the categories "Analytics" and "Marketing". If we start using cookies in these categories, we will:
- list them in this policy before we use them;
- load them only after you have consented to the relevant category; and
- ask for your consent again, because a choice you made earlier cannot cover tools we were not using at the time.
7. Your choices: the cookie banner
On your first visit, a banner asks you to choose:
- Accept all allows all categories;
- Reject all allows only strictly necessary cookies;
- Settings lets you choose individual categories.
"Accept all" and "Reject all" are shown side by side with equal prominence, so rejecting is as easy as accepting. In the settings, optional categories are switched off until you switch them on. Until you make a choice, we use only strictly necessary cookies.
We record your choice together with the date and time and the version of this policy, so that we can prove your consent. If you are signed in, we link this record to your account.
8. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. A withdrawal applies from that moment and does not affect the lawfulness of any use before it. If you withdraw your consent, we stop using the cookies concerned and delete them as far as technically possible.
9. Deleting or blocking cookies in your browser
You can view, delete and block cookies in your browser at any time. Look for options such as "Privacy", "Cookies" or "Site data" in your browser settings, or search your browser's help pages (for example for Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge) for "delete cookies". Most browsers also let you block cookies for specific websites or delete cookies automatically when you close the browser.
If you delete our cookies, you will be signed out and the cookie banner will ask for your choice again. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or pay.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change requires your consent, the cookie banner will ask you again.
