Send a Letter from the USA to Europe Online, Mailed Within Europe
Print and Mail Company lets you mail a letter from the United States to anyone in Europe without international postage or a trip to the post office. You upload a PDF, or have an AI assistant write the letter, and we print it in Europe and mail it there, so it never has to cross the Atlantic. You can pay in US dollars, and letter-size (US Letter) PDFs are fine.
Who Americans write to in Europe
- Banks and brokers: closing an account, updating your address, answering a request for documents.
- Tax offices and other authorities: replies to letters, supporting documents, registrations and deregistrations (more).
- Pension funds and insurers: applications, claims, cancellations and changes of address.
- Landlords and property managers: notices, lease terminations and letters about an apartment you rent or rent out.
- Universities: applications, enrollment matters and requests for documents.
- Consulates and embassies in European countries.
- Family and friends who would rather get a real letter than an email.
Recipients can be in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands or anywhere else in Europe; the destinations page lists every country we mail to.
Why it arrives faster: mailed inside Europe
A letter mailed internationally from the US first has to cross the Atlantic. With us, it starts in Europe: we print your letter in Germany, France, Belgium or Luxembourg and hand it to a postal carrier there, so it only travels within Europe. That usually makes it faster than an international letter mailed from the US.
| Destination | Typical delivery after handover |
|---|---|
| Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands | 2–4 business days |
| Rest of Europe, for example Italy, Spain, the UK or Switzerland | 3–6 business days |
Letters paid by 12:00 Central European Time on a business day are usually printed and handed to the postal carrier the same business day; later orders the next business day. That is early morning in the US, so a letter you pay during the US workday is usually mailed the next business day. Delivery times are typical, not guaranteed.
How to send a letter to Europe from the US
- Create an account with email and password, a magic link or Google sign-in, and choose USD as your account currency.
- Upload your letter as a PDF, US Letter or A4, with 9 mm free on every side. We check it automatically, and "shrink to fit margins" or "crop margins" fixes problem pages with one click. No PDF yet? Let an AI assistant write the letter through our MCP connector.
- Choose the paper: for a US Letter PDF to Europe, we shrink it to A4 or keep US Letter, as you prefer, at the same price.
- Enter the recipient's address the way it is written in their country, with the postal code. We print it directly on the envelope, so your letter needs no address window.
- Choose your options: standard or registered mail, black & white or color, single- or double-sided.
- Pay the exact price, including VAT, by card or from your prepaid credit. You can follow the status in your account (Paid → Printed → Posted), and each paid letter is confirmed by email.

Registered mail when you need proof of delivery
Choose registered mail when a deadline applies or when you may later need to show that your letter arrived, for example when you close a bank account abroad, end a lease or answer a tax office:
- you get a tracking number in your account, which you can follow on the carrier's website;
- the recipient signs on delivery;
- it costs US$12.31 (excl. VAT) on top of the letter price.
Our registered mail is international registered mail, not US Certified Mail, and a separate return receipt is not offered yet. Standard letters have no tracking number. More about registered mail is in the FAQ.
Paying in US dollars
- Account currency: choose USD at sign-up (EUR, GBP and CHF are also available). It cannot be changed after your first payment.
- Exchange rate: our prices are set in EUR and converted at the ECB reference rate plus a 12% currency margin, fixed at the moment you pay.
- Example: a 1-page black & white letter to Germany or France costs US$4.51 including VAT. The pricing page shows every destination zone.
- Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the other methods Stripe shows at checkout. Cards issued outside the EEA, including US cards, carry a surcharge, shown as a separate line before you pay.
- Prepaid credit, no subscription: the minimum top-up is CHF 10.00 / €10.00 / £10.00 / US$10.00. You can also pay a single letter with a smaller amount for a CHF 0.50 / €0.50 / £0.50 / US$0.50 processing fee; anything above the letter price stays as credit.
Questions about this
How long does a letter from the US to Germany take?
We print and mail it in Europe, so it does not cross the Atlantic. Letters paid by 12:00 Central European Time on a business day are usually handed to the postal carrier the same business day, and typical delivery after that is 2–4 business days to Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands and 3–6 to the rest of Europe. Delivery times are not guaranteed.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Yes. Choose USD as your account currency when you sign up. Prices are set in EUR and converted at the ECB reference rate plus a 12% currency margin, fixed when you pay. US cards carry a surcharge, which is shown as a separate line before you pay.
Can I upload a US Letter PDF?
Yes. We print on the size you upload. For a letter to Europe, you choose whether we shrink your US Letter pages to A4 or print them on US Letter paper; the price is the same. Keep 9 mm free on every side of each page.
Is your registered mail the same as US Certified Mail?
No. It is international registered mail: you get a tracking number, the recipient signs on delivery, and it costs US$12.31 (excl. VAT) on top of the letter price. A separate return receipt is not offered yet.
Can you mail my original documents or a check?
No. We print only what is in your PDF, including a scanned signature, so we can't mail paper originals, checks, enclosures or goods. If a recipient needs a document with your original handwritten signature, mail it yourself.
